Our Approach

Three pillars.One shared purpose.

OurLand functions on three main pillars: conservation, sustainability, and education. Each strengthens the others in our pursuit of living in harmony with nature.

Protecting the wild

Conservation

OurLand is located at the southern tip of the Western Forest Complex, one of the largest contiguous forests in Southeast Asia. We currently protect 26 Rai of a strategic wildlife corridor adjacent to Salakphra Wildlife Sanctuary, protecting the path to an access point on the River Kwae often frequented by wild elephants and other creatures.

Sustainability

Our conservation efforts are bolstered by our ecovillage, where we test drive sustainable techniques and technologies that encourage integration with and regeneration of our natural world. We seek replicability in our designs and use locally available materials whenever possible.

Education

Our ecovillage also functions as an education center. We take student groups, members of the local community, and engaged tourists through our reserve, ecovillage, and local conservation projects. We also facilitate a connection with the natural world through online courses.

01 / The Bigger Picture

River Kwae

Important wildlife water access

02 / Why It Matters

Keeping the connection alive.

OurLand is situated in one of the last corridors before Lat Ya City. Development along the River Kwae has impeded animals from crossing the 3199 highway to access the river.

Our goal is to preserve and expand this wildlife corridor, regenerate forest space, and develop additional research stations to monitor biodiversity.
